🎭 Theatre Breaks in North Wales: Make a Stay of the Show
As we leave behind 2025 and step into 2026, we’re excited to pick up the pace with our blogging and connect more intentionally with guests who love to make memories while they travel.
One of the things we feel truly privileged about at Bryn Woodlands House is our location.
Being based in Colwyn Bay means we’re ideally placed for some wonderful experiences — and one of the most popular is theatre and live performances.
Theatre on Our Doorstep
Whether you’re a fan of West End–style productions, comedy nights, live music or traditional pantomime, North Wales delivers all year round.
We’re just:
5 miles from Venue Cymru, Llandudno – one of North Wales’ largest theatres, hosting touring productions, concerts, comedians and much-loved pantomimes.
A short walk from Theatr Colwyn, right here in Colwyn Bay – a beautiful local venue offering plays, comedy, films and community productions throughout the year.
Together, these venues make North Wales a wonderful destination for theatre lovers looking to build a short break around a show.
A Personal Connection to the Theatre Scene
This year gave us a new appreciation for theatre when we experienced pantomime properly for the very first time in years — and it reminded us just how special live performance can be .
That connection deepened even further when Tracey had the opportunity, through her radio show with Bayside Radio, to interview Han and Fran from Britain’s Got Talent, who were starring in pantomime locally.
During the interview, they spoke openly about what it feels like to now be doing what they truly love — bringing joy, laughter and entertainment to audiences of all ages. Hearing first-hand how performers experience life on stage added a whole new layer to what these shows represent: not just entertainment, but passion, dedication and shared moments of happiness.
It was a lovely reminder that behind every performance is a story — something that makes attending theatre even more meaningful.
Make a Memory, Not Just an Evening
A theatre visit isn’t just about the show itself. It’s about the whole experience:
Anticipating the performance
Enjoying a relaxed meal beforehand
Knowing you don’t have a long drive home afterwards
Waking up the next morning by the sea
That’s where turning a night at the theatre into a theatre break really comes into its own.
Why Stay With Us?
Guests staying with us for theatre visits often tell us how much easier and more enjoyable it makes the experience:
No rushing home late at night
Easy access to both Llandudno and Colwyn Bay
Time to explore the coast, shops, restaurants and cafés before or after the show
A welcoming, relaxed place to return to and unwind
Whether it’s a one-night escape or a longer stay, theatre breaks offer the perfect blend of culture, comfort and coastal charm.
